Project Description

Asian Influence

The inspiration for this Master Suite came from my clients’ desire to draw upon their cultural roots.
The “builder’s special” quality of the room came standard with the townhouse;  a cramped layout, inadequate storage, inexpensive materials and sub-par lighting made renovation imperative.

Spatial flow and visual charm was increased by replacing the wall that divided the tub and shower with a shorter, knee-wall.  Storage was increased via the triple, fully recessed medicine cabinet.  This organized storage system provides plenty of options for stashing away small items while inner and outer mirrors, high-quality lighting plus an LED nightlight feature allow more ease in performing daily bathroom tasks.
The new vanity is furniture-quality with full-extension drawer glides and soft-close doors and drawers.
Sinks sit neatly beneath Crema Marfil marble.

Drama enters center stage via Italian, porcelain tile that has the look and feel of natural stone.  The horizontal shape and repeated pattern wraps itself around this spa-like space in harmonious rhythm while glass mosaic tiles glimmer from inside wall niches, tucked between studs to provide further storage for bathing essentials.
An air-jet tub with a chromatherapy feature provides a soothing respite and the
shower stall boasts a 5” diameter shower head, hand shower, thermostatic control and a floor that is tiled with slivers of natural stone.

With function now a priority and aesthetic charm abounding, my clients now have the Asian-influenced Master Bath of their dreams!
